Belkin is big in my household. In fact I am writing on top of a Belkin laptop stand as I write this. I have always trusted their products and only one in the last few months did not meet my standards.

I was skeptical after reading the below review about the case. I own the Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Aluminum Metallic) and bought a case here on Amazon that was OK, but not great. It was the CaseCrown Bold Standby Case (Black) for Acer ICONIA Tablet. I liked the case but it was not that sturdy and I was looking around the last few months for a new one.

When I received this case I was scared about it slipping down as the other reviewer wrote. I had to laugh, as I tried to get the tablet into the case, I was struggling. It was so tight, the fit. I really had to work at it to get the tablet in. I even thought that the seams were going to rip. I had to look at the case to make sure I had the right one. Once in place, it does NOT move at all.

Compared to the other case it is VERY sturdy. I like that it does not have magnets for closing but the band instead. It also just feels better in my hands. All ports are visible and I even held it up in the air and you can see that the tablet did not slide nor move in the case. It is in there. Overall the case is just made better and feels better in my hands. With my other case, I feared it was not going to hold up if traveling.

The only think I am confused about it clearly states Midnight Black on the Amazon page and also on the Amazon sticker on the back of the box. I would not say it is black at all! I will be uploading pictures next to my black case. It is a gray color. Even if you zoom in on the pictures in the stock photos, you can see it is not black but gray. Since the packaging does not say I looked it up and could not find the color. But if you are expecting Midnight Black, you might be disappointed.

For me this case is all I need and is a wonderful upgrade from what I had. I do keep it on my bed and it does have a chemical smell to it that I am hoping goes away. All in all I am very happy and it suits my needs.

Added October 23, 2012: After someone left a comment that stated, "What about the facts that it doesn't keep the tablet upright like it shows in the picture and it doesn't have an opening for the volume control?" I responded to the comment and said I usually use it in landscape mode and still today for the live of me do not understand why the volume control is not accessible to the other user. I wanted to note, these last few weeks I have let my toddler use my Acer tablet, with the case, in portrait mode, which I assume the commenter meant upright. I had no issues using the case upright and also the volume was accessible to me in portrait mode. I had plenty of room on the upper right hand side to turn the volume up and down with the cut out area Belkin provided for the Acer tablet. I still think the other reviewer might have received a defective case as I have not had an issue with it

I wanted to add that last night I decided to switch cases. I bought a clear one to use with my Acer tablet. I like to switch them out every now and then. Be prepared to fight the Belkin case to get it out. I knew it would be hard. It was hard to get the tablet in the case. I could not just pull the tablet out and had to pull the outer part of the case which stretched it. It took a lot of wiggle work and also I feared I was going to break the screen trying to get it out it was so secure. At one point I also thought about cutting it out with scissors. Just giving you a heads up that if you plan to remove it from the Belkin case, be prepared. It takes a lot of effort and almost messed up my tablet since I could not remove it easily. I wanted to give everyone a heads up so they are prepared.
