I don't know why but I was expecting this to be some kind of metal - of course, it's plastic, but it's a sturdy plastic and light. Also it folds in half for easy transport/storage. The two mousepads were a bit of doing to figure out even with the pictures but I managed - they fit securely enough, although, as the warnings on the attachments say, it should definitely not be relied on for heavy lifting. I am using it now to type this review. It is comfortable and the desk doesn't slip from my lap nor does the keyboard and mouse. I was worried with no reviews and the $35 price tag (not being amazon itself, returns can be iffy) but the packing is done very well with lots of instructions and information included on product and return information. Great.
