This is a simple sleeve that's sure to be great for toting your laptop around, but it's not for the M17x, which can't fit into this because the laptop is so darn thick. I haven't tested if it's water-resistant (it feels like it's water-resistant). Should provide some protection for your M17x and is a much more convenient option for me than the obscenely bulky and heavy Mobile Edge Alienware Orion messenger.
