This case is perfect for a 15" retina macbook pro. It's just the right size, is padded enough around the zippers and sides to save a computer in case of a short fall, and is light enough that I hardly notice the extra weight. I use it as an extra layer of protection for my laptop when it's in my backpack, but the handles are convenient too and they hide away nicely. I don't think the pockets are necessary, but they're a convenient place to put a power cord and mouse when I happen to be taking them along. This pouch is an excellent quality and is about half the price of any comparable ones on the market. I'd highly recommend it.
