I purchased this because I use my Nexus 10 primarily for reading textbooks in .pdf; all my reading is done in "portrait" mode so I wanted a case that could hold it upright for me.

So far, it does its job. I can read my books in portrait orientation, and swipe/turn pages fine. It protects my Nexus 10 when it's in my bag.

PROS:

- The Nexus 10 fits very securely into the case
- The cover flap is amply padded
- The whole case is stiff, so I have no fear of it bending when inside my backpack
- The PU leather has relatively good grip and it's easy to clean
- The leather grain isn't too gaudy

CONS:

- Like the previous reviewer said, the tablet has a tendency to slip off the grooves, particularly the groove closest to you. Portrait or landscape, it doesn't seem to matter: both equally maintain this tendency. But if you're just reading from it and swiping it occasionally, it's not going to slip off. Pushing hard, however, at the top of the screen will definitely cause it to slip off (but who does that?).
- The elastic band that keeps the case closed is flimsy and will slacken too soon. When it does, I'll probably replace it with velcro.
- Opening the case WILL NOT automatically turn on the screen. (So it lacks a magnet?)

NOTE:

There are 3 grooves but, when using in portrait, you can only use the two nearest to you. Trying to use the farthest one will just cause the tablet to fall back. It just cant be used.

For the price and functionality, it's great.
