The product does exactly what it's supposed to - cover your laptop. However, I had difficulty attaching the case (it seemed to fit just a little too tight). It's been less than a week and the case has already started chipping and unraveling. It was okay for the price, but I'm a little bummed knowing that I will have to replace this within a matter of months, if I'm lucky.

There are many laptop sleeves out there, but not many from higher end brands like Tumi. I normally buy Tumi products so without hesitation, I bought this sleeve to transport my 16 inch laptop. There is nothing crazy about this sleeve other than the longer than normal zipper pull (made out of leather) which is nice.

BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber Full Body Ultra-Thin Stylish Scratch Protection for Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display (2012) - Red (BZ-ACR5P-0612) Review

The texture from the "carbon fiber" skin is nice. That said, this skin is essentially a large vinyl type sticker. That's not really a bad thing. The adhesive is strong and at the same time, doesn't leave residue. The material used for the carbon fiber texture feels strong enough and seems like it could take some scratches without damaging the Macbook underneath.

Installation wasn't too bad. It's a dry install (meaning water is not required to smooth out bubbles) - and because the skin is an opaque skin - you don't have to worry about getting tiny pieces of dust underneath (though you should still try to keep it at a minimum). I've performed my share of wet install skins, and this one was easier than most of the wet installs. The skin is also pretty thick compared to wet install 3M transparent skins, so getting it on and smoothing it out is, in my opinion, easier.

So - from the above - you might be wondering why I only gave it two stars? The fit is awful. This is a rigid skin - not like the wet install transparent skins where you can stretch it a little.

The top skin isn't fitted well to the lid. Where there is nearly no room for error on the top or bottom of the lid skin, the sides have a little too much room.

Which is okay compared to the bottom skin. The bottom is so misaligned that several holes are covered half way which makes them un-serviceable.

After, I looked at some video reviews and notice others had the same problem. The skin is just cut poorly.

Before anyone asks, yes I have a 2012 Macbook Pro 15 with Retina display that this skin was made for.

To summarize, this is a nice quality skin, but the fit is poor.

Mobile Edge Premium Laptop Backpack- 17.3-Inch (Black/Navy) Review

I bought this backpack 5 months ago as a replacement for a Mobile Edge Premium Laptop Backpack that I have had for almost 8 years. I bought the original in 2004 for what was then my new Dell Laptop. The original has held up fabulously through all kinds of experiences. It has been on countless flights around the country, through camping trips, three motorcycle accidents, and I use it every single day back and forth to work. In March of this year, I was in a 50 MPH head on motorcycle accident; I rolled over the backpack with my 230 lbs, and the only damage was a broken plastic buckle - everything inside was in perfect condition.

The new backpack doesn't fare nearly as well. In 5 months, without any extreme circumstances (no motorcycle accidents, camping, etc.), the fabric inside the backpack has torn in two spots, the waist buckle has broken, and the light duty mesh on the outside front pockets has ripped. This is just from day to day use back and forth to work. The 1680 denier nylon outer skin has done well, which is to be expected. Everything else seems to be of inferior quality.

If the whole backpack were made of the same quality materials as the outer skin, it would be a great bag; it has many great features, it's comfortable, and it is roomy. As it stands, however, I will be looking elsewhere for my laptop backpacks from now on.

I recently bought a replacement plastic buckle for my original bag and have been using it instead of this new one. When it does eventually give up the ghost, I'll most likely look at a Sandpiper or Blackhawk bag that is built sturdier throughout.
